5 Must-Have Wordpress Plugins for 2009
Posted on Jan 12, 2009 - 10:39 PM EST
We’ve been busy developing 2 new websites launching later this month and I’ve been hunting around for good wordpress plugins that I’ve never come across before. Twitter and Facebook integration of blogs and comments seems to be a huge part of blogging these days, so here are 5 really good must-have plugins to start off this year:
TweetBacks
This simple plugin imports tweets about your posts as comments. You can display them in between the other comments on your blog, or display them separately. This way you don’t have to go back and forth Twitter and your blog to keep check of your comments. Download HERE.
Publish The Feed Later
This is not a plugin, but a great little hack PHP code to publish your RSS feeds 5 minutes after you hit publish on the blog. This is great for people like TIM because he always has a typo on the subject/body that he realizes after he hits publish… and by then, it’s too late to edit the RSS feeds. Get the code HERE.
Facebook Photos For Your Blog Post
If you have tons of photos on your Facebook profile and want to blog about them, then this plugin is for you. Download HERE.
Facebook Connect
By now most blogs have installed this plugin - if you haven’t, then you must. This plugin provides single-signon, avatars, and newsfeed publication of comments for your readers. Get it HERE.
iPhone Plugin for Wordpress
If you ever visited http://timothysykes.com on an iPhone, you would see a simple, clean website without any of the graphics with common interface elements that compliments the iPhone/iPod touch’s internal applications. This is a must have plugin for any site these days - especially with the amount of traffic we get from iPhone users. Download it HERE.
